Philips new WACS700 Wireless Music Centre is about to be released. This is a great piece of kit with some well thought out functionality. It houses a 40 GB hard drive, CD player, amp and speakers. There’s also a slave unit that can be positioned in another room that features speakers and an amp and will receive streamed music from the main unit. The main unit and slave unit is priced around £600 and further slave units can be purchased for £200 each. The main unit will connect to a maximum of 6 slave units and the system allows music to be paused in one room and then continued in another, clever stuff!
It also features integrated ripping software to transfer your music from CD to the hard drive and allows MP3 and WMA files to be transferred to the hard drive.
